The Little Warriors Continue to Help Children Across the Country

On March 25, 2010, Kevin Webster, a Regional Business Development Manager in the Northern Alberta Region of Intact Insurance had the pleasure of presenting the founder of Little Warriors, Glori Medrum, a donation of $25,000 from the Intact Foundation. This is the second of two instalments towards the Little Warriors "Help Kids Be Brave" initiative, for a total of $50,000.

Little Warriors was launched in 2008 by Glori. As a survivor of sexual abuse, she began Little Warriors as a way to help prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. The knowledge of the organisation has grown substantially: they receive over 11,000 hits a day on their website and demand for instructors for their awareness programs reaches across many communities within Canada.

The money from the Intact Foundation will go towards the purchase of Jessie dolls. These dolls are supplied to the police, child welfare, hospitals, and crisis centres across Canada to be given to kids who have been sexually abused; the hope is that they will provide some comfort to them in these situations.
