The Intact Foundation would like to congratulate the 2009 Top 20 under 20™
Top 20 Under 20 is a national youth awards program, founded by Youth in Motion to celebrate and honour young Canadians who have demonstrated a significant level of innovation, leadership and achievement before reaching the age of 20. Youth in Motion is a national charitable foundation focused on developing the employability and life skills of Canadian youth to prepare them effectively for success in life and work.
The accomplishments of this year's Top 20 Under 20 are impressive and far-reaching! From preserving food in times of drought in underdeveloped countries to raising over $650,000 for breast cancer through a grass roots initiative to creating a website that educates Canadian children about the plight of the people and endangered gorillas in the Democratic Republic of Congo, this year's Top 20 Under 20 have worked hard to make a difference. Their staggering results have established them as visionaries among their peers, their mentors and their communities at large.
Award recipients are selected by a national judging panel of assessors who have made a significant contribution to the world of education, business and the not-for-profit sector. Winners receive a financial award of up to $5,000 toward their continuing area of study or training, an invitation to participate in a week-long Leadership Summit, a prestigious awards celebration, and a year-long mentoring program.
The Intact Foundation invests in high potential community initiatives, such as Top 20 Under 20, and has been a proud supporter of the program since its inception in 2003.
