Intact is fighting back against cancer

At Intact, we believe in making the communities where we live and work safer, healthier and happier. Since 2006, we have taken action against a disease affecting our friends, loved ones and our own employees.

The Intact Foundation and Intact Insurance are co-funding the Relay For Life Ontario High School program for a fourth consecutive year. Our investment supports all 70 high schools taking part this year. At every Relay For Life High School event, teens celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones and fight back against cancer by raising funds for the Canadian Cancer Society.

Night out at Trafalgar High School in Oakville, Ontario

At 7:00 p.m. on May 22, some 800 participants rallied, preparing to spend a beautiful spring evening together. Candles were lit in memory of the loved ones who had lost their battle against cancer, and two cancer survivors delivered moving speeches. Everyone was touched, including our own Heather Schoeler who attended the event and delivered our cheque personally.

"It was a proud moment for me to represent the Intact Foundation and Intact Insurance at this inspiring event," she said. "The leaders of the high school program spend their entire school year building awareness around cancer research and creating a moving event that impacts their entire community. As a cancer survivor myself, I appreciate their efforts even more and found myself drawn into their spirit of giving."

Intact Foundation is committed to empowering Canada's young people to achieve their full potential and building stronger communities for the future. Thanks to our support, the Trafalgar High School students raised over $90,000 for cancer research.
